Interview with Balázs Rózsa, the creator of Elma (in Forever CD, 2001-07-21) Hi Balázs! Hi MUe! You have created Elasto Mania, wich fanatized a lot of people, notwithstanding we don't know anything about you. How old are you? -34. Where did you learn programming? -In the end of my high school I had a Sinclair ZX Spectrum. On this computer I programmed in BASIC. Later in faculty of electricity of the Technological University I learned other languages too. Which language you programmed Elma? -C++ What do you do nowadays? -I am a programmer, I assists in building of www.index.hu website. When, and how did you get the idea of Elasto Mania (Across)? -The idea came suddenly. I don't remember exatly when it was, (only that it was spring), but quite ago. I wanted to do some game and I was thinking, and suddenly I got this idea. How much time did take to make Across and Elma? -I was making them for years, with shorter and longer interruptions. How did the development happen? What was the hardest part, and what was the things you made to ready at first. -The first part was the motion of the bike. Making the graphics took the longest time, because I am not too good in this field. Did you think of such a big success? -I hoped, but of course, I couldn't know in advance. On which level you play Elma? Only like a programmer-tester, or sometimes also you lose the real world? -I like playing Elma, but I don't play it for good times. That's why I am amateur compared with some people. Can we expect a new version ever? -I dunno, beside my job I don't have any time to develope the game, but who knows what the future brings. Have you made any other game? -A few game in the TV. One of these was the Rex. They played it in the mornings quite ago. What is the tendency of registrations? -They are quite good now. The tendency doesn't show decreasing, actually sometimes it increases. Thats all, thanx, bye! -Bye!
